I’m in my last semester of school now. It’s been fun Multimedia, but I am so over you now. LOL I’m ready to go out and find a real job and get paid to do this stuff! This last year has been very tough for me. 3 years is enough of this. I’m fortunate enough that this semester is all project based. I have already got all my projects for the rest of the year. I don’t even have to attend classes… well only a few… and to check-in if I have any questions or need to work at school.

Today I registered for a Adobe Illustrator course. It’s a #2 Illustrator course, and I don’t have the right prerequisite, but I took a Digital Illustration course already that focused on Illustrator. So BIG DEAL, I’m sure I’ll know what the instructor is teaching. I really wish I could’ve took another Flash course though, but it isn’t offered in this term. I may take that in the summer. Who knows..

Anyway, this weekend I’m visiting Laurie in Montreal. It should be fun! We haven’t seen each other in over a year! Which is not like us.. I remember one year we saw each other 4x LOL – dunno how that happened.

This past weekend I went to Miami for some partying. It was my girls birthday and we thought we’d celebrate it in the sun.. rather than the cold here where we live. I arrived a day earlier (Wed) than all my friends (1 of the girls I was supposed to meet up with missed her flight). I was pretty pissed off when I arrived.

I found that the Miami airport was very confusing. I was waiting for a shuttle to come from “Runway Inn” hotel – They never showed up. Even though I called them twice and my friend (who was calling from Ecuador) also called them. I waiting outside where all of the shuttles/pickup etc came.. Nothing for 2 hours. I was almost ready to cry from frustration. It was such a terrible night. Anyway, after calling them another time and getting the run-around from them, who couldn’t care less of my wait BTW – I SUGGEST TO EVERYONE  — NEVER BOOK WITH RUNWAY INN MIAMI — EVER….. I said fuck it, I’m not waiting anymore and called my Hostel (which we were staying at the rest of the 5 days). They were so polite, took me in last minute – set me up. I took a supershuttle into Miami Beach, the driver took me around and showed me all the sights, gave me advice, etc – Even helped me with my bags at the hostel. Nice man.. That night I spent the time in my room. I was exhausted anyway, and really didn’t feel like partying much.

Next day (Thurs), I had a nice walk along the beach in the early morning, got some yummy breakfast, tanned on the beach and met up with the rest of my friends. It was good to finally not be alone in this strange place. LOL Waited for another one of our friends, checked-in and headed to the beach. Afterwards at night we got ourselves dinner (which was provided free by our hostel), and we headed out to LIV Nightclub at the Fontainebleau. I don’t get what everyones hype is about LIV.. yeah sure it’s in a good area. But the place is small, I’ve been to a ton of much nicer clubs before. The dancefloor got packed by 1AM – Sharam was DJing that night. The girls and I could hardly move.. so we left pretty early… around 2AM-ish… our feet were hurting. The hotel was really quite pretty, loved the chandelier  — but nothing compared to the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. I think Vegas has spoiled me to a point where I’ll never really be impressed with any other hotel. LOL

Next day was another beach day (Friday). It was very windy though and also cloudy. Actually.. most days (other than the first and last day) were cloudy and windy. We ended up going out with our hostel that night to Love Hate and Cameo… I was pretty gone that night, as the hostel gave us drinks and shots. I remember dancing on the ledge between the tables (I’m very surprised I didn’t fall on my face).. It was fun from what I remembered.

Saturday – yet another beach day, and also Jenny’s birthday! We walked around like usual, checked out Lincoln Mall – great place to shop! That night we ended up meeting with a promoter at another hotel, and we got into Mansion Nightclub for free. The group basically needed more girls to get them in. There were probably around 20 other guys – us and a few other girls. We didn’t mind – Definitely didn’t want to spend $25 to get into the club. That night Dirty South was DJing – so it was pretty busy. I stayed sober that night because I wanted to enjoy the music – OMG It was a pretty amazing night! They handed out lighted foam tubes everyone was waving around, had confetti cannons everywhere. It reminded me of Las Vegas. LOL – One thing I do regret from that night was walking back to our hostel ALONE. I felt so unsafe – so much cat-calling, questionable characters on the street @ 4AM – I stuffed my iPhone/ID/cash in my bra while I was walking… Never again.

Sunday, went out for breakfast by the beach at Ocean… tanned at the beach – Even floated in the Ocean! Damn that water is salty! It was the first time I went in (past knee length) – Not as scary as before LOL… We ended up at Nikki Beach with our hostel. It was fun from what I remember – I made the mistake of pre-pre-drinking LOL BAD IDEA. I pretty much blacked out. I don’t remember much of the night.. and I probably made an ass out of myself. Damn. Horrible.

Monday – I stayed in bed all morning-afternoon feeling ashamed and hungover – oh well – afterwards we went over to an Italian Restaurant on Lincoln and had gelato for dessert. We had to because of Jersey Shore. It was pretty great too! So surprised. We didn’t end up partying like we usually do – went to bed pretty early (around midnight)

Tuesday – well rested, the girls left before me and I went over to the beach to take some well needed photos and video. I was going to incorporate them in a school project, but I can’t think of a way to combine them without looking bad LOL – just no motivation… Johanna and I took the bus around 1PM to the airport and I was off to home at 4:30PM

I had direct flights to Miami both ways – so it was pretty easy to get down there. The airport in Toronto only took me 30 mins – Miami about an hour wait.. flights were both under 3 hours. Pretty sweet! Overall – my trip was good. I think it will be a long time before I plan to go back though. I felt that staying by the beach was unsafe, and I was always watching out for someone to take my things. There were a lot of homeless people on the streets and sketchy people that would yell out, try to get your attention with rude/perverted comments, EVEN weirdos trying to touch you. Not my kind of place to vacation in… *nods head*

I’ve been very busy with school and work. Life is a bit overwhelming at the moment, lots of projects due, teaching myself crap.. and failing.. It’s stressing me out. Last week I just about cried every day of the week, it was horrible. I contemplated some terrible ideas in my head.. which I will not discuss. I had a major breakdown – and visited my moms grave for some guidance. It was pretty intense. I feel awful just thinking about it again. I got over what I was dealing with – it was me failing on php – and I’m thankfully back to normal now.

My birthday is coming up quick. I’m going downtown clubbing this time. I haven’t done the Toronto clubbing scene thing in a while.  I felt like it was greatly needed. LOL I’ve decided on a 25 and over bar. Though half of my party is under 25, I’m sure the club wont decline a bunch of pretty girls .. ya know? .. well I hope! OR there’s always somewhere else. I decided on the 25+ place because I am so sick of touchy guys at the club thinking they can just come up behind you and rub their junk on your ass/back. I’m over that part of my life. The bars/clubs around my area are usually filled with 19 year olds that always manage to disappoint me.. I’m too old to go out in my area. LOL

Is is weird that I feel like by calling him, I think I’m using him for his connections? It’s true, I don’t really talk to him otherwise… But I guess it’s his job to get the ladies into their club. Promoters get paid by each lady they get in don’t they? Oh well, I don’t really know.

I’ve planned out potential hotspots to go where all the major DJ’s will be playing. I can’t wait to see Skrillex, Avicii, Benny Benassi, Afrojack, [possibly] Pauly D, … maybe Calvin Harris and LMFAO.. Is Labor Day a big deal in the US? Meh. who knows.

ANYWAY, my summer has been pretty awesome. Been working lots, traveling, etc. After my 2nd year of school was done in April, went to Vegas to celebrate… well not really celebrate.. but maybe to hit off the summer. May was wicked.. The girls and I stayed at Treasure Island this time… for 4 days… and then travelled to California for another 3 days. The trip was pretty amazing. This year visited Rain on the first night, 2nd night we spent at XS, 3rd night was at Marquee & the 4th night we spent at Moon. Nightclubs were amazing as usual. I absolutely fell in love with the Cosmopolitan and Marquee… fabulously beautiful. Hotel and nightclub were so amazing. We had the best time there and met some great people too… HA!

I could go on and on about what happened, and what else we did while we were there, but I’m really too lazy to get into it.. and it’s not something I want to discuss on here.. just incase anyone gets offended/etc… but if you would like to know, you can ask. All I have to say about Vegas is, LADIES get a hookup from a local promoter there.. it’s worth it to get yourself and your friends into whatever club you want to go to… entry, drinks.. free.

California was also pretty good. We laid low most of the time because we were still recovering. I was terribly sick too, it was pretty awful… BUT I still made the most of it

The rest of the summer went by pretty quick too.. long weekend cottage partying, camping, so many concerts [ie NKOTBSB], summer BBQ’s… working…

I can’t believe it’s already August.. and school is 1 month away! AHH.. CRAZY!

So my girl Sam and I are ending summer with a big bang.. and going to Las Vegas. HAHA I know.. again. YEP. SO WHAT? ;) We are heading down Sept 1st until Sept 6th. 6 days [5 nights] of pure craziness! Staying at the MGM Grand… for Labour Day weekend festivities… I hope everything goes as well as it always does… There’s so many things, places, DJ’s, pools, etc I want to do. I hope it all works out. My friend isn’t as much as a drinker as I am.. but she’s been with me last year.. and she seemed pretty good.

I’m pretty stoked for this trip.. I shouldn’t really be going on another trip… but you only live once right?

WHAT AM I EXCITED ABOUT???? LAS VEGAS AND CALIFORNIA! Yes that’s what! Planning a girls trip for the beginning of May. I can’t fucking wait! I will be finished my 2nd year at school, needing a break from the work-weather:snow-business.. ya know. Is it sad that when I mention a trip to my friends, they all know it’s probably to Vegas? I now just look at them when they ask – and they know. LOL – SHUT UP, I love Las Vegas with all of my heart – I will always come back for more and more! So the trip, we are going to Vegas and then halfway we’re renting a car and driving to California. Visiting LA – hitting every beach we can. This trip will be EPIC. (I don’t normally use that word, but I see it fit for this) ;)

OH and btw, I would like to share what I’ve done with my nails this week.

1 more week left of this semester. I can’t fucking wait! Massive amounts of stress and sleepless nights are really getting to me. I can see it in my face every morning. I don’t like it. Women really do need their beauty sleep. My skin is taking a toll. We picked our winter schedule on Monday and my classes are as follows: DESIGN IV – DIGITAL ART, INTERACTIVE CONTENT DESIGN II, NEW MEDIA DESIGN and ANIMATION II, PORTFOLIO, SERVER-SIDE SCRIPTING & WEB DEVELOPMENT. There are so many programming courses I have to take. FML! I hope I can do it. This past semester I’ve been struggling by, I’ve lost all my motivation to do assignments. I just want it all to be over.

Oh well, I really need a vacation! I might plan a trip for May, when school is done with for the year.

OH! one thing that I’m pretty happy with is that I got a bursary from my college.

My trip to Vegas a few weeks ago was pretty amazing too. Same old Vegas routine though. Lots of scmoozing, NOT as much crazy shit like all the times I’ve been before… over all great trip. Las Vegas never disappoints me. I want to plan another trip.. maybe for winter or spring break. I’ve never been anywhere all-inclusive.. so I think that will have to be it. I’m thinking Mexico…

I’ve been working full time since April… but now that the Garden Centre has closed for the season, my hours at work have drastically gone down to 16-28 hours. BOOO! Oh well. It allows me to have a life for the rest of the summer! HAHA

Last weekend I went up to Parry Sound to go camping. It’s so beautiful there. Such a nice feeling waking up with not a care in the world, opening your tent on to the lake. Pretty! Nothing like that here that’s for sure.

And last but not least news… I’m going to Las Vegas again! I’m so friggen excited, I can’t wait! We’re going August 25th until the 29th. 5 nights baby! 6 days of pure partying. AHHHH There’s so much that I want to see and stuff I wanna see again. I don’t know how this trip is gonna top last Vegas’ trip! I’m sure it will.

What’s new with me since I last update? Well since I last update, it was NOVEMBER! It is now January 2010! Been a while! ;)

School: First semester went well. I ended up pretty much acing most of my classes, ended up with a 4.0 GPA and on the honor roll. Go me! pfft… no, but really.. that has never happened to me before. The last time I was “smart” was when I was in grade 2.. in 1992! HAHAHAHAHA  Even in the family, good grades only happened to my oldest of brothers. My other brother and I were the … underachievers or just lazy. heh

Christmas was okay. I’ve never really gotten into the holiday season since my mom died 2 years ago. Since she passed in December, it’s very hard for my family and I to celebrate. So we just had a low-key Christmas, exchanged gifts with the immediate family, and had a nice dinner.

I also went on holiday the last week of December! Went to Vancouver with Laur to visit Kiki!!! We had a blast! BC is so much different than anywhere on the East Coast. It’s so beautiful! As soon as the pilot announced that we were landing soon, we checked out the window.. and I was in AWE. The MOUNTAINS! My gosh. I don’t remember seeing mountains quite like it. So pretty! It is also insanely clean on the streets of Vancouver. EVERYWHERE. No garbage, no smellyness… It’s so different than Toronto. I would love to move there, if I had the money to.. and a got a job there. New years was good, we all dressed up and partyed at Kira’s place. It was fun.

Semester 2 started up this week. I’ve only had 3 classes out of the 6.. but it seems to be going well. I have a lot of fun classes to look forward to! I even get to learn about … Photoshop. HAHAHAHA I’m aiming for high 90′s in that course! Wish me luck! lmao ….
